We spend a sweaty two weeks in the wilds of southern Illinois crafting our production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The show toured in Chicago, southern Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Stone Soup Shakespeare brings Shakespeare’s work to audiences who would not necessarily have access to it, and AD Julia Stemper has had a huge impact on how I approach Shakespeare. With each of the five cast members playing multiple roles, my MSND needed to be fast and fun and a little bit wild. As one of the most accessible comedies, I felt it was a great show for audiences to really dig into.
